MFA Thesis Exhibition
Moudy Gallery, Texas Christian University
Fort Worth, Texas
April 27-May1, 2010

Working as I do with actual and digital fragments from previous works, individual pieces stay in a state of flux while they are in my possession. Reflecting my working methods and the construction zone metaphor, this exhibition also changed. I rearranged the space every day while I occupied the gallery. Individual pieces were moved from one wall to another, or hidden, or brought out of hiding. Works were grouped together, then broken up and rearranged. These juxtapositions changed the emphasis and even content of the pieces. Some arrangements looked deliberate; others seemed random. States of completion varied, as they do at a construction site or in an art studio. Refinement and rawness mingled, and the overall effect was one of incompleteness and transition.
